The Scottish Borders has everything for the angler from the internationally renowned salmon fishing on the River Tweed, to excellent fishing  for rainbrow trout in the local lochs to wilder brown trout in the rivers and sea fishing off the Berwickshire coast.

At Carfraemill we are only 15-20 minutes drive from some of the best beats on the River Tweed.  The long season runs from 1st February to the 30th November.

At Carfraemill we sell permits for fishing wild brown trout and grayling on the River Leader which is just 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Fishing  for truly wild brown trout on this crystal clear water is challenging and  a stealthy approach is required to out wit the natural brown trout and grayling found in the streams and pools.Trout fishing is available from 15th March until the 6th October for the very reasonable cost of £3 a day, £5 per week or £8 per season!

We can supply picnics and we have a drying room beneath the hotel.  Have a good day and relax in the evening with a dram and some of our excellent Border food!
