What to Expect
A traditional afternoon tea is the ideal way to celebrate a special occasion but you don't need a reason to book in for this lovely experience.
As the name suggests, this is a post-lunch or pre-dinner ‘meal’ and it revolves around dainty sandwiches and traditional Scottish cakes and sweet treats. We serve all of our afternoon teas on pretty, vintage plates with teacups and saucers.
Afternoon tea is a tradition which has been extremely popular in the whole of Britain, including Scotland, since the 1830s. Carfraemill has been serving Afternoon Tea since at least the 1930s, but probably as far back as the 1800s. So this is the perfect place to sample one of the most traditional versions Scotland has to offer. All of our sandwiches, sausage rolls and baking is homemade right here at Carfraemill and most of our recipes have been passed down through generations in Scotland.
