Outdoor Pursuits

We are very happy to help with arrangements for outdoor pursuits. We have particularly good relationships with local game estates for shooting as well as with ghillies if you’d like to arrange salmon or trout fishing. In addition, we are able to provide clay pigeon shooting facilities and an instructor on a hill farm just a mile from Carfraemill.

Our Farm

Ask at Carfraemill for a map of walking routes on the farm.  In Scotland everyone has the "right to roam" and we welcome serious walkers as well as those just looking for down time with open skies, country air, a lot of sheep and local wildlife.  You can walk from Carfraemill to the edge of the farm in 5-10 minutes, and choose a route that suits from there.

Family Time

In our experience, keeping little people (and big people) entertained makes for stress free holidays and days out.  There is loads to do in the Scottish Borders with woodland centers, adventure playgrounds and cycle tracks to name a few.  Very close to Carfraemill you have the chance to explore our sheep farm as well as visit a rather special bird reserve.
